Exercise – 06| Autumn Poem

Use the following flow-chart to write a paragraph within 100 words on how to make a paper.

Flow chart: cutting down of bamboos –making pulp –adding chemicals –rolling into sheets –adding color –dying –ready for use.

It is difficult to go an entire day without paper. Making paper is nevertheless exciting. The first step is to collect the principal ingredients such as rags, woods straws, bamboos old scraps of paper and so on. are gathered. They are then curled or cut into pieces and thoroughly cleaned. Then, the pieces are submerged in water and then mixed with lime to soften them. The mixture is then being whirled in a machine to create white pulp. After that, it’s moved through wire-meshes and then heated rollers to flatten it. This is how paper sheets are created and dry, pressed and made smooth. Following that, they’re cut into various sizes. After that, the sheets are wrapped, labeled and shipped to the market to be sold.

Write a biography of Annie Besant within 100 words based on the hints given below.

Hints: Born on 1st of October 1847 in London –famous British writer –well known socialist, activist for the rights of women –participated Indian politics –joined the Indian National Congress –became the first woman president of the Indian National Congress in 1917 –passed away on 20th of September 1933 in Madras, India.

Annie Besant was one of those foreigners known as well-wishers to India. She was born on the 1  Oct. 1847, in London as a middle-class woman. She was a well-known British orator and writer. Also, she was a well-known socialist and a defender of women’s rights. She was a tireless advocate of women’s rights and birth control throughout her life. She travelled to India and was a part of the Indian freedom movement . She became the first female to be the president of the Indian National Congress in 1917. She fought against British rule of democracy and dominion status for India. This wonderful soul passed away on the 20 <sup>the 20th</sup> September 1933 at Madras, India, creating an enormous gap within the hearts of Indians.

I love the fitful gust that shakes
The casement all day,
And from the mossy elm-tree takes
The faded leaves away,
Twirling them by the window pane
With thousand others down the lane.

আমি সেই দমকা হাওয়াকে ভালোবাসি যেটা নাড়াতে থাকে
জানালার পাল্লা গুলিকে সারাদিন ধরে,
এবং শ্যাওলা ধরা এলম গাছ থেকে ঝরিয়ে নিয়ে যায়
বিবর্ণ পাতাগুলিকে,
জানালার ফলকের সামনে ঘোরাতে থাকে

কাকের বক্ষে থাকা পালকগুলি
খচখচে জমির উপর পড়ে,
পুরানো কাকের বাসার কাছে থাকা ওক ফলগুলি

Autumn poem class ix Theme :

In the poem above, in the above poem, the poet John Clare presents the vivid scene of autumn’s beauty on the landscape. The poem gives a variety of accounts about its splendor, it’s distinguished by the falling leaves, barren branches, and powerful winds.

In in this piece of poetry John Clare presents the beauty of the season by expressing his sweet nature. At the beginning of the poem, the poet stated that he loved the breeze that smacks the window throughout the day. from the mossy elm tree, it removes the leaves that have faded and spins them in the window and thousands of other leaves are also tossed by the wind as it travelled down the road.

The poet also enjoys to observe the twig which moves in the windy days of autumn and dances until the night .The sparrow rests on the roof of the cottage and its notes of chirping confirm that spring was just flirting in the summer’s lap.

The poet is fascinated by the cottage’s smoke that is soaring upwards through the trees that are naked. In the dull days of November, birds flit about its nest, and the cocks crows over the hill of dung. The mill continues to move across the meadows. Raven feathers drop onto the lea of stubble.

In Autumn, the acorn fruit fells from the trees near the old crow’s nest making a sound of pattering and Pigs grunt and wait to rush off in a hurry, and scramble to collect the fruit.

Summary of the POEM !

The poem is actually only the poet’s personal vision of nature. He did not even describe the beauty of the Autumnal country side through out the poem.

John Claire wrote several poems that express a sense of joy and excitement in conditions of wind. Maybe the wind was an exceptional quality for him and morphed into an elusive powerful and awe-inspiring thing that is able to be identified as affecting the creatures, birds trees, mammals, and even trees which are meticulously recorded in a variety of poems by John Claire.

Claire’s air-blown world is well-constructed: it enhances even the animals that are not numbered. It actually blends two sides of Clare her self-aware and well-read writer and the highly natural and aware nature-poet.
